Writer - Studio Elevation (Remote within the UK)

Dreams Studio Elevation are re-establishing the boundaries of VR. We are looking for a writer who can create compelling story and character dialogue. If you're passionate about crafting narrative that can further elevate the player's experience for our VR games, we'd love to hear from you!

As a writer, you will be producing engaging storylines and characters while ensuring that they also align with the overall creative vision. You'll work closely with level and narrative designers, animators and artists, ensuring that the narrative tone and quality matches that of the gameplay.

The rundown:

• 12 month fixed term contract
• Full time (37.5 hours per week)
• Fully remote within the UK
• Salary range is competitive and dependent on experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with designers to craft dialogue that delivers both quality narrative and the story beats across the game.
• Writing and revising in-game dialogue and NPC barks.
• Ensure consistency of voice, tone and theme across the project.
• Help to develop plots, lore and character backgrounds.
• Editing and updating scripts based on feedback.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Maintain story bibles and dialogue spreadsheets.

The skills you'll need:

• At least 3 years’ experience of delivering high quality writing.
• Take direction as well as ability to drive your own tasks.
• Excellent understanding of interactive storytelling.
• Ability to address and incorporate creative feedback in an effective and constructive manner.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication, documentation skills and the ability to convey abstract concepts.
• Familiarity with Unreal and scripting tools.

The nice to haves:

• A keen VR enthusiast, knowledgeable about the trends and hottest games in this sector of the industry and in particular the games design and playable content perspective.
• Experience with VR development.
