We are looking for a motivated and creative Junior Character Artist eager to grow their skills in 3D character creation. You’ll bring enthusiasm, a strong artistic foundation, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment. In this role, you will support the character art team by creating 3D models and textures under guidance, contributing to a variety of projects while developing your technical and artistic abilities. You’ll work closely with senior artists and other departments to learn best practices and deliver quality assets.
The rundown:
- 12 month fixed term contract
- Full time (37.5 hours per week)
- Fully remote within the UK
- Salary is competitive and dependent on experience
Key responsibilities:
- Model and texture 3D characters based on concept art.
- Collaborate with rigging and animation teams for integration.
- Apply feedback to improve and iterate on assets.
- Maintain consistency with the project’s visual style.
- Optimize models for performance.
- Assist with documentation and asset organization.
- Stay up to date with tools and techniques in character art.
The skills you’ll need:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in Character Art.
- Basic proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
- Understanding of anatomy, form, and topology.
- A portfolio showcasing character art fundamentals.
- Willingness to learn and take constructive feedback.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
