nDreams Studio Elevation are re-establishing the boundaries of VR. We’re looking for an exceptionally talented Concept Artist to help us explore, create, and deliver world leading innovation in software and VR hardware. With our first title nearing release and a second in early planning stages, it’s a great time to join our fully remote, VR-first studio.
As a Concept Artist, you will be responsible for designing and creating high-quality artworks and illustrations with a focus on conceptual art. The role requires strong core artistic capabilities and accompanying communicative skills to discuss, critique and iterate on a wide and varied spread of creative content.
The rundown:
- 12-month fixed term contract
- Full time (37.5 hours per week)
- Fully remote within the UK
- Salary is competitive and dependent on experience
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Art Director and the Concept Art team to translate the game style into tangible assets that refine the game's tone through moodboards, key art, and reference research.
- Deliver inspiring artwork that communicates ideas clearly and aligns with the project's art direction and brief.
- Engage in sketch work, visual brainstorming, storyboarding, and design of characters, environments, and props, leading to high-quality key art.
- Conduct research to ensure the form, function, and viability of designs meet player expectations.
- Create assets in various styles for different game and player types, setting the standard for the art process.
- Assist Marketing and Pitching teams with high-quality artwork, documentation, and promotional assets.
- Adapt to feedback from the Art Director and the wider art team to ensure cohesive delivery.
The skills you’ll need:
- Proven track record as a Concept Artist in the video game industry.
- Skills in all areas of concept art and visual development, including character creation, environment details, and adapting to different styles.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and complementary software.
- Experience with specific hardware such as Wacom/Cintiq and VR hardware.
- Ability to develop visual ideas and respond positively to feedback.
- Understanding of Unreal or other game engines.
- Professional experience working in various art styles.
