We are a Global Hedge Fund based in the West End of London. We are hiring an AI / Machine Learning Engineer to help build an AI-assisted forecasting platform focused on Global bank equities. This is an exceptional opportunity within a successful and supportive investment team working in a well-established Hedge Fund. A terrific chance for the right candidate to contribute to the development of a leading-edge platform at the forefront of the investment process. This role sits at the intersection of LLMs, data engineering and fundamental investment research.

The system combines deterministic financial models with LLM-powered workflows that analyse earnings transcripts and other unstructured financial documents. The platform is already in use and now needs to scale from a small number of banks to 200+ names across multiple KPIs.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and improve LLM-powered workflows for analysing earnings transcripts and disclosures
  • Develop and optimise RAG / retrieval pipelines for unstructured financial content
  • Build and maintain data pipelines from ingestion through to model outputs
  • Help design evaluation, testing and monitoring infrastructure for LLM systems
  • Contribute to the scaling of a live forecasting platform used in an investment context
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Technical Lead in a small, high-impact team

What we’re looking for:

  • Approx. 2–4 years’ experience
  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience building LLM applications beyond simple prompting
  • Experience with data pipelines and SQL
  • Familiarity with RAG / retrieval, unstructured text workflows, or document pipelines
  • Good software engineering habits: version control, testing, maintainable code
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a practical, hands-on mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience with LLM eval / debugging
  • Agentic workflows
  • Docker, cloud, API development
  • Tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, MCP
  • Interest in financial markets or company analysis

Why join:

  • Work on a real applied AI problem in a live investment setting
  • High ownership in a successful, small, high-performing team
  • Opportunity to help scale a differentiated research platform from early stage to broad coverage
  • Direct exposure to both technical and investment workflows
