Join our Site Services team as an Operator Estates, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and supporting the infrastructure that keeps our site running safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on, varied role offering real impact, working across buildings, grounds, and essential services, with opportunities to develop your skills while contributing to a high-performing, supportive team.

Operation and maintenance of the site's non‑active drains networks is a routine task, as is delivering a winter gritting service.

What you’ll do

  • You will play a vital role in keeping the site operational and safe by delivering essential excavation works and ensuring the effective maintenance of drainage systems, including drains and septic tanks.
  • Alongside these core responsibilities, you’ll support a wide range of operational and maintenance activities that contribute to the smooth running, compliance, and upkeep of the estate.
  • Undertake road sweeping, winter snow clearing, and gritting duties.
  • Carry out general site repairs, pest control, and refuelling of emergency generators.
  • Perform inspections including foreshore, fencing, and outfall sampling, as well as underground service scanning.
  • Conduct site signage surveys, replace street furniture/signage, and fulfill relevant management responsibilities.

What you’ll bring

  • We’re looking for a reliable and safety‑focused individual with solid construction or site-based experience, capable of working both independently and as part of a large team.
  • You’ll bring strong practical skills, a positive attitude towards safety and compliance, and the flexibility to adapt to seasonal demands such as winter shift work within the gritting team.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills, with a proactive and dependable approach.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV and construction plant licences advantageous, including 360 excavator).
  • Construction site experience with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexible mindset, willing to undertake seasonal shifts and demonstrate strong safety awareness and leadership qualities.
