An exciting opportunity has arisen within the FCA Programme for a Facility Supervisor to play a key role in the safe, effective delivery of operations and operational maintenance across a complex, highly regulated site. This is a hands‑on role offering variety, responsibility and the chance to influence standards, safety and performance while developing your supervisory and management capability.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the Facility Manager and a wide range of stakeholders, you will help ensure work is planned, executed and reviewed to the highest standards, while supporting teams, contractors and site requirements in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide effective supervision of facility and operational activities, acting as Building Supervisor and supporting day‑to‑day delivery, problem solving and progress reporting.
  • Plan and control work by reviewing and preparing safe systems of work, waste compliance documentation, schedules, hazard reviews and managing changes in scope.
  • Monitor, challenge and support contractor performance, applying STOP work principles where required to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Fulfil key management and safety appointments (e.g. Permit to Work Issuer, Area Waste Officer, RPS/RMC, Building Warden), participate in emergency response, and line manage Dounreay staff.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven site and operational experience within a highly regulated industrial or plant environment, with strong safety awareness and understanding of work control processes.
  • Confident organiser and planner, able to manage competing priorities, understand risk and maintain control of complex activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive, self‑motivated and assertive approach and the confidence to use initiative.
  • Radiological experience is highly desirable (ideally with RPS/RMC appointments); knowledge of assay systems would be an advantage.
