You must be available to work either mornings or evenings, and weekends. You will ideally have experience of working with people who have learning or physical disabilities and have experience of supporting people with their personal care.

Role Purpose: The Support Worker role is to provide high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people with additional needs. This includes supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge, as well as social, domestic, and personal care needs, and promoting independence, social interaction, and personal development. The post holder will work in various settings including the community; the individuals’ own homes and supported living environments. Some individuals may require clinical or specialist techniques, including medication administration.

Key Responsibilities of role:

  • Promote child development through play, socialisation, education support, and life skills.
  • Provide personal care, including toileting, washing, dressing, and intimate care, maintaining dignity and promoting independence.
  • To communicate confidently and effectively with those you support.
  • Attend and implement training in Paediatric First Aid and Team Teach (Positive Behaviour Management).
  • Follow individual care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and consistent support.

Health and Safety:

  • Safely support individuals with complex, obscure, or physical health conditions.
  • Always follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and incident reporting.

Teamwork and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and multi-agency professionals.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of support provided, including behaviour, progress, and incidents.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision, and training sessions.

Training Requirements – we will provide you with the training required:

  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Team Teach (Positive Behaviour Management).
  • Training on supporting complex health and physical conditions.
