GSK's Ware Site in Hertfordshire, UK is a key manufacturing centre for medicines and supply worldwide. We are seeking certified Engineering Technicians to support production activities and site operations across engineering, quality, and technical functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned, preventative and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance on production and utilities equipment.
  • Calibrate critical process and utility equipment.
  • Investigate faults, control‑system interrogation, problem solving and breakdown resolution.
  • Conduct routine HVAC testing and air quality monitoring.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for equipment and processes to enhance safety, quality and reliability.
  • Complete statutory inspections and safe systems of work such as ATEX, PUWER, Zero Access, LOTO and Permit to Work, including high‑voltage substation checks where required.
  • Liaise with cross‑functional teams – Quality, Validation, Production, Logistics and Technical – to coordinate work.
  • Participate in project work, including commissioning and installation of new equipment.
  • Utilise site systems and engineering data for diagnostics, compliance and equipment improvement.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors and service engineers to ensure safe and compliant specialist work.

Shift Pattern

  • 24/5 – 12‑hour shifts Monday to Friday, including night shifts.
  • 24/7 – 12‑hour shifts throughout the week, including night and weekend work.
  • Double‑Days 16/5 – 8‑hour shifts Monday to Friday with rotating early and late duties.
  • Shift patterns can be discussed prior to and during the interview stage. Preferences will be considered.

Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering qualifications (HND, HNC, Engineering Apprenticeship) or equivalent experience.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to learn, good communication, accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to work within a disciplined, regulated environment and follow standard processes.
  • Hands‑on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Calibration and Instrumentation, Pneumatics, and Automation (Siemens / Rockwell).
  • For some roles: Electrical Distribution (including High Voltage) and Controls/BMS expertise.
