This challenging position will be responsible for new and existing design updates to ATM and self-service products designed in Dundee.
Working closely with operations, suppliers, and customer services input to deliver industry leading performance required of NCR Atleos products used by the Banking Industry.
A key requirement is to have previous experience in a mechanical design team, preferably with a keen interest in the design of product packaging & device integration.
- The successful candidate will have experience of
- New Product design and lifecycle support of existing products from a mechanical perspective
- Create mechanical designs, provide estimates, manufacturing options etc.
- Experience in product design, working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture. Design of mechanisms experience would be an advantage
- Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards
- In depth understanding of supplier engagement and change management
- Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines to enable system wide integration
- Plan design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
- Ensure parts / work products are released using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
Experience required
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
- Experience developing or supporting complex electromechanical products used in customer-facing or self-service environments.
- Experience designing mechanically packaged products incorporating sheet metal, plastics, castings, integrated modules, assemblies and harnessing.
- Experience designing products for manufacture, assembly, serviceability, reliability and environmental compliance.
- Advanced CAD Skills (Pro E/Creo or Solidworks)
- Ability to co-ordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Drawing, dimensioning & tolerancing experience
- Stress and Tolerance analysis experience
- Design of mechanisms experience would be an advantage
- Experience with Rapid prototyping technologies
- A customer focused attitude and a sense of urgency around all activities.
- Sets high work standards and be an excellent communicator
- Willing to travel, globally e. g. customer sites for support or analysis
