Role Purpose: The Tactical Asset Protection Officer (TAPO) is responsible for conducting risk assessments, implementing target hardening measures, responding to security incidents, and ensuring the protection of high‑value assets and business operations. This role requires proactive engagement with law enforcement, internal stakeholders, and industry bodies to mitigate threats and maintain compliance with security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Surveys & Risk Assessments: Complete site surveys and risk assessments promptly for new and existing estate locations. Ensure Global Security Operations minimum standards are met or exceeded. Recommend and implement target hardening measures. Conduct cash limit reviews and liaise with Cash Planning teams.
- Incident & Attack Reporting: Attend attacked customer premises as a liaison for Global Security Operations team. Gather critical information (crime reference numbers, police officer details, images). Assist police investigations and provide necessary support and ongoing liaison. Complete Statements of Loss (MG11) for law enforcement.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with police forces, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Ensure timely updates to both the business and law enforcement on ongoing investigations. Represent the company at industry meetings (e.g., SaferCash).
- Project Work: Identify and recommend security improvements to protect the estate. Oversee installation of security upgrades in high‑risk locations. Provide updates to management on project progress and risk mitigation measures. Proactively implement target hardening and future‑proofing strategies.
- Knowledge Development: Stay informed on industry best practices, CIT and ATM crime trends, and emerging security technologies. Research and evaluate new security products and solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Support colleagues with project work and share best practices. Exchange relevant intelligence (e.g., cross‑border offences).
- Training & Compliance: Complete all mandatory training (e.g., Tiger Kidnap, Risk Assessment). Maintain knowledge of internal processes and compliance requirements.
- Staff Cover (occasional): Manage ATM attack notifications and Global Security Mailboxes. Coordinate emergency responses, including collection, de‑cash, or guarding options. Cover of TAPO regions during leave or sickness.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Full, clean driving license (maximum 6 penalty points).
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- High security awareness and ability to identify improvement opportunities.
- General ATM industry knowledge (advantageous).
- Ability to improve departmental practices and processes.
