Position Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi-discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.

We are seeking a Graduate Analysis Engineer who will work as part of a cross-functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions. The role will involve planning and executing analyses using specialist CAE tools to provide clear and concise design direction to the wider engineering team. A mechanical background is required with strong knowledge of mechanical engineering first principles. Basic hands-on mechanical skills would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons 2:1 or better preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support existing and new media (banknotes/cheques/vouchers) handling products from a mechanical perspective
  • Use data points available to select the appropriate analysis approach
  • Use CAE tools such as Ansys Mechanical and RecurDyn to evaluate different technologies and provide design direction
  • Backup CAE tool findings using hand calculations or physical testing
  • Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines
  • Produce clear and concise reports to easily share findings with the wider team
  • Recommend solutions
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in modelling and simulation
