Ncounter is supporting an outstanding technology consultancy looking to appoint several Senior Business Consultants across its Defence practice. This is an opportunity to work on complex transformation and technology programmes that have a genuine impact across UK Defence, alongside highly capable consultants, technical specialists and subject matter experts.

The role is broad by design. You could be helping clients shape digital and technology strategy, lead transformation workstreams, develop business cases, improve operating models or support major programmes through complex delivery challenges. You will work directly with senior Defence stakeholders, taking ownership of defined pieces of consulting work and turning complex or ambiguous problems into practical recommendations and deliverable outcomes.

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Existing SC Clearance
  • Around 3-5 years' relevant experience, although capability is more important than a fixed number of years
  • Consulting experience combined with genuine exposure to UK Defence or MOD programmes
  • Experience owning workstreams, projects or significant client deliverables
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills
  • Exposure to digital transformation, technology strategy, programme delivery, business analysis or organisational change
  • Experience producing strategies, business cases, operating models or transformation roadmaps would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement, governance, investment appraisal or the HM Treasury Green Book would also be valuable

We are also interested in former military professionals, particularly commissioned officers or those from Intelligence, Signals, cyber or technical backgrounds, who have since developed strong consulting, programme or technology delivery experience.

The position offers varied client work, strong career development and the opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants and technical specialists across important Defence programmes. Hybrid working is available, although assignments can require regular client-site attendance and travel.
