nCino offers exciting career opportunities for individuals who want to join the worldwide leader in cloud banking. nCino is seeking an experienced legal counsel focusing on commercial transactions and regulatory matters to join its growing legal team based in London.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, analyze and close a wide variety of commercial contracts including master SaaS agreements, statements of work/professional services agreements, partner/reseller agreements, product integration agreements, vendor/procurement agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
- Comprehensively advise and negotiate regulatory issues, laws and regulations that may affect nCino directly as a software provider or any of its customers (primarily financial institutions).
- Provide legal advice and support for internal functions, particularly sales, but including professional services, marketing, finance, support and IT at all levels of the organization.
- Support the continuous improvement of templates, alternate language playbook, internal resource documents, etc.
- Train employees on legal issues, best practices and company policies.
- Help build and strengthen communication and relationships between the legal department and other departments through working cross-functionally.
- Complete special projects as requested.
- Develop an understanding of the nCino business.
Requirements
- A Law Degree and qualification to practice as a solicitor/lawyer in the UK or at least one member state of the European Union.
- At least 4 years post qualification experience in a reputable law firm, at a regulatory authority or in-house for a high growth technology company.
- Experience in advising on commercial and regulatory matters. Substantive expertise in negotiating and closing complex agreements.
- Experience in advising on digital markets/platform regulations.
- Experience in European Financial Services Regulations including the EBA Guidelines, and DORA.
- Knowledge of data protection law including GDPR, financial regulation including the EBA Guidelines and DORA.
- Experience with SaaS, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, and other legal issues related to the technology industry.
- Hard-working, well-organized, seasoned and balanced business judgment, able to handle a great deal of responsibility without substantial supervision, and able to manage multiple competing priorities under deadline pressure.
- Excellent communication, customer service (internal and external) and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters with a team-player attitude.
- Ability to translate legal concepts into simple and practical business solutions.
- Excellent sense of humor, project management skills and commitment to professionalism are required.
- Willing to work independently with support from US headquarters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual – Spanish, Dutch or French.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
