We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated Physiotherapist to join our Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Team. This post is ideal for experienced clinicians or Band 5 physiotherapists ready to step up and develop their clinical leadership skills across a range of settings.
This Band 6 rotational post provides the chance to build advanced skills while working across a range of specialty areas. Each rotation offers the opportunity to consolidate clinical reasoning, develop autonomy, and contribute to service improvement.
- Managing a varied and sometimes complex caseload with increasing independence
- Providing specialist assessment and treatment
- Supporting Band 5s, assistants, and students through supervision and teaching
- Contributing to service development and quality improvement projects
- Participating in MDT working and supporting effective patient flow
- Engaging in CPD, in‑service training, and supervision structures

- Flexible approach to work patterns. Able to participate in on-call duties.
- Ability to travel between sites.
- Driving licence.
Knowledge and Experience
- Rotations in a broad range of core areas, e.g. cardio-respiratory, ITU, elderly rehabilitation, acute medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and community rehabilitation.
- Deputising for senior colleagues.
- Involvement in service development through clinical audit, use of outcome measures etc.
- Working to full band 5 outline.
- Supervising e.g. students, newly qualified staff, support staff
- Delegation and caseload prioritisation
- Working independently on call.
- Consolidation and development of undergraduate training through attendance at in service training and other CPD opportunities.
- Portfolio of evidence of post-graduate learning e.g. ALERT, neurology, cardio-respiratory etc. Key NHS drivers for change and implications for physiotherapy services.
- Following NHS discharge policy Professional code of conduct and confidentiality.
- Awareness of complaints procedure.
- Understanding of Equality and diversity issues.
- Work within a community setting.
- Responsibility for an area of work, e.g. health & safety, in-service training
- Equality legislation and best practice.
Qualifications
- Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
- HPC registered
- Clinical supervision / mentoring certificate or equivalent.
