Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity strategies, programs, and policies in accordance with DoD and federal cybersecurity mandates.
- Ensure systems are secured in compliance with DoD directives, including DoD 8570.01-M, NIST SP 800-53, and RMF (Risk Management Framework) requirements.
- Serve as the senior advisor for Computer Network Defense (CND) and Information Assurance (IA) activities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of incident response, vulnerability management, security operations, and compliance monitoring.
- Coordinate with system owners, ISSOs, and other stakeholders to maintain ATOs and support continuous monitoring plans.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity audits.
- Ensure team members maintain required certifications and are trained on evolving threats and tools.
- Provide regular reports and briefings to senior leadership and external auditors or assessors.
- Supervise the work of cybersecurity engineers, analysts, and other technical staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with resolving network vulnerabilities and ensuring users are in compliance through the use of ACAS.
- Plans and schedules Authority to Operate (ATO)/Authority to Connect (ATC).
- Shall possess: 1) Ten (10) or more years in the field or related area 2) Education: BA/BS in information technology or related discipline 3) Certifications: CISSP-ISSMP or GSLC, ITIL V3 4) SECRET Clearance.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a minimum Secret clearance at time of appointment and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.
- Completed SSBI.
- Must comply with all applicable DoD security training and continuous evaluation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) programs or other DoD agencies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, HBSS, SIEM, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud security standards (e.g., FedRAMP, DoD Cloud SRG).
Work Environment:
- Primarily on‑site in a secure facility, may require on‑call availability and after‑hours work during outages or upgrades.
- May involve periodic travel to secure facilities or program sites.
- Must be capable of working in high‑security environments and responding to cybersecurity incidents under pressure.
