Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Technical Assessor at the Energy Academy. The role is expected to deliver and assess on apprenticeships within Plate Welder and Metal Fabricator at the Energy Academy. This will include:

  • Classroom delivery
  • Workplace visits
  • Regular employer reviews
  • Updating relevant e-portfolio systems
  • Liaising with relevant awarding organisations

This post requires a strong background in Welding and Fabrication and the candidate must have a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the Energy sector. The candidate must be qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.

It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential.

The hours of work will be flexible and may include evenings and weekends according to demand.
