Specialist Support practitioner- Personal Care

Do you want to make a difference?

Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner in Personal Care to join a passionate team that supports the achievements of students with additional learning needs and or disabilities including young people and adults.

As a Specialist Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals who are require personal care including moving & handling, toileting, feeding and medication whilst maintaining the dignity of learners at all times. You will provide practical and mobility support for students who require assistance with manoeuvring around the campus, including sighted guiding support, wheelchair access support and all other elements of physical support to ensure the student has full access to their curriculum. Additionally, you will support the delivery of training to learners and colleagues on access related matters.

As the successful candidate, you will be an enthusiastic and adaptable person, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. You will have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent and be able to work flexibly, including evening work, and supporting at our off-site provision.
