Plan and deliver learning

You\’ll Need

  • A relevant subject qualification (e.g. degree or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.

As a Lecturer in Travel and Tourism, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, engaging, and industry-relevant lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to further education students.

Kidderminster College is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified professional to take on the role of Lecturer in Travel and Tourism – 0.8 timetable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality programmes within our further education Travel and Tourism provision, which is tailored to the local travel and tourism industry and learner interests.

The role also includes programme administrative responsibilities to ensure effective course management. A key focus will be supporting learners in developing employability skills relevant to the industry, promoting independence, and preparing them for progression into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong vocational background, with proven experience in developing learners\’ technical and employability skills. They will hold industry relevant qualifications, alongside a post-16 teaching qualification or a commitment to achieving this within an agreed timeframe. Level 2 English and maths qualifications are essential, or the candidate must be willing to attain them. Candidates with experience in cabin crew and aviation are strongly advised to apply for this role, as we run these courses in student enrichment programmes too, alongside delivering L2 and L3 NCFE qualifications.

In addition to delivering lessons, you will track and monitor students\’ progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies to help them improve. Motivating students and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment will be key to building their confidence and keeping them engaged. Collaboration with parents, guardians, and educational staff will be essential to ensure student success, with regular communication and recommendations for improvement.
