The main responsibilities include delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in Engineering across various levels of further education, higher education, and apprenticeships. This position requires a strong background in Machining and proven vocational expertise in the Engineering sector, including:
- The ability to set and operate manual milling machines and lathes, and interpret engineering drawings in both first and third angles.
- Inspecting machined parts according to industry standards.
- Knowledge of machining techniques, tool selection, and material properties.
- Leading engineering projects within a workshop setting.
- Knowledge of hand-fitting and bench working techniques.
- Preparing workshop materials and coordinating with technicians.
- Organizing student work, tracking progress, and documentation.
The candidate must be qualified to an industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification, and have Level 2 English and Maths qualifications or be willing to obtain them within an agreed timeframe.
