Lecturer/Advanced Technical Lecturer – Electrical
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer/Advanced Technical Lecturer – Electrical. The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Electrical Installations or Electrotechnical across a range of levels of further education, and / or apprenticeship or T -level provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.
This post requires a strong background in Electrical installation and the Built Environment and the candidate must have proven track record of professional / vocational expertise Electrical installation Domestic and Commercial.
As with all teaching roles the candidate is expected to be able to plan and prepare sessions and complete learning and assessment paperwork. Candidates will be provided with learning materials and will be expected to be able to develop and build form the baseline.
The candidate must be suitably qualified to the industry-and recognised standard in relevant built environment electrical installation, inspection and testing qualifications at L3 minimum, AM2 or similar is also required for this role. The candidate should also hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2 or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
