Lewisham College is one of London's largest further education providers, and there has never been a more exciting time to join us. We are currently recruiting a Technician to support our Construction training department. As part of a dynamic and supportive team, you will help deliver Electrical Installation qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 to young trainees, adults, and new entrants to the industry.
In this role, you will supervise students' learning activities in our workshops, demonstrating safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and machinery, as well as key practical techniques. As an Electrical Installations Technician, you will contribute to course planning, delivery, and administration. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and consistently meet required deadlines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing materials and equipment to meet learner and industry needs
- Monitoring stock levels
- Ensuring the workshops and machinery are well maintained
A strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations is essential, along with good communication and ICT skills. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate and take part in relevant site visits and trade competitions.
We are looking for candidates with appropriate industrial and vocational experience, who bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and good organisational abilities to help us develop a thriving training environment.
