Purpose of the role
As a lecturer you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of programmes within the Higher Education Centre. You will inspire and support students to reach their potential, ensuring they are equipped with both the academic foundation and practical skills needed for professional success. You will also play an active role in course development and quality enhancement, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience.
Main duties and responsibilities:

- Deliver high quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes within a higher education environment.
- Tutor students, providing tailored support to help them achieve their academic goals and progress positively.
- Contribute actively to the development and continuous improvement of courses, liaising effectively with staff and students.
- Contribute to the production of module/unit specific schemes of work.
- Mark assessments appropriately in accordance with the assignment brief and marking criteria.
- Implement measures to understand students\' learning needs
- Support students with timely formative feedback as required by each programme specification.
- Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed timeframe set by the assessment team.
- Provide timely, constructive formative feedback in accordance with programme specifications to support student development.
- Ensure compliance with programme expectations and guidelines
- Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
- Maintain effective communication with students and colleagues to support a collaborative and professional learning environment.
- Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain subject knowledge, teaching expertise, and awareness of sector developments.
- Create high-quality digital and/or written content to support teaching delivery, including lecture materials, online resources, and learning activities.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and engaging learning content aligned with current curriculum requirements.
- Take on leadership responsibilities, such as serving as Module Leader where appropriate, overseeing the effective delivery of the module, coordinating teaching teams, managing resources, and ensuring academic standards and quality assurance processes are consistently met.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- Master\'s degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
- Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at HEI level.
- Work in line with Blackboard / VLEs, MS Teams / Zoom.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working in the industry of your subject.
- Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA, etc.
