Overview
Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Advanced Technical Lecturer – Plumbing. The main responsibilities include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Plumbing and Heating across a range of levels of further education, and/or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess high-quality learning programmes in Plumbing and Heating across FE and/or apprenticeship provision; undertake programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.
- Plan and prepare sessions and complete learning and assessment paperwork; develop and build from baseline using provided learning materials.
- Demonstrate a strong background in Plumbing and Heating installation with proven professional/vocational expertise in Domestic and Commercial Plumbing and Heating.
- Be suitably qualified to industry-recognised standards in relevant plumbing and heating and gas (distinct advantage but essential).
- Hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2 or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
- Desirable: experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
- Ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively orally and in writing; good IT skills; flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
Qualifications
- Industry-standard qualifications relevant to plumbing and heating; teaching qualification for post-16; English and maths at level 2 or willingness to achieve.
