Job Description:

Lecturer in Film, TV and Media

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are in search of a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer.

In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering and assessing high-quality learning experiences. Your responsibilities encompass monitoring student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to ensure all students meet their targets. Effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues within the curriculum and support teams is paramount. Additionally, you will drive high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success.

Demonstrating patience, empathy, and a positive outlook will be essential in supporting student development, while maintaining composure and remaining calm in challenging situations to ensure a nurturing learning environment.

The ideal candidate will possess qualifications to honours degree level or an equivalent industry-recognised standard. Ideally, you will hold a post-16 teaching qualification, accompanied by English and maths qualifications at Level 2, or be committed to achieving these within an agreed timeframe.

Experience in delivering effective education/training in Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and/or Apprenticeships, along with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice, is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with digital literacy, are prerequisites. Moreover, the ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends based on demand, is crucial.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-motivated, cohesive, and successful curriculum team. We take pride in fostering a positive and supportive work environment where colleagues collaborate effectively to maximize the value of our curriculum for all stakeholders.

If you are ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and contribute to their academic and personal growth, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
