The Head of Business Engagement and Partnerships role will be responsible for developing employer engagement strategies which translate into quantifiable new employer relationships and support the delivery of Sector based Work Academies (SWAPs), work experience and apprenticeships. The postholder will attend and host industry events, careers/jobs fairs and report on performance against Adult Skills Fund, Apprenticeships and Work Experience delivery targets.

Responsibilities

  • Hosting quarterly stakeholder events to encourage learner referrals
  • Leading on the design and implementation of the Back Lewisham London Talent strategy, in collaboration with Lewisham civil, community, employer and community stakeholders
  • Proactively engaging new employers through networking and outreach to promote recruitment services, work placements, and training programmes
  • Undertaking business needs analysis to identify business issues and create targeted solutions
  • Supporting businesses to identify and create recruitment timelines throughout the financial year
  • Providing advice to employers, such as helping them meet regulatory standards, supporting recruitment processes and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Developing and strengthening strategic partnerships with key employers and stakeholders across the Employability, Work Experience and Apprenticeships landscape
  • Leading the operational delivery of employer engagement for apprenticeship programmes in line with the College's strategic plan
  • Supporting the Assistant Principal in implementing strategic initiatives and growth plans for apprenticeships, Work Experience and Employability programmes across the College
  • Leading the department to develop new business development opportunities across London to augment the College's adult and apprenticeship provision
  • Responsibility for ensuring quality assurance across all apprenticeship programmes and maintaining Ofsted & audit readiness through robust monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement processes
  • Strategic management of the College's Work Experience provision for Study Programme learners
  • Leading a marketing campaign to promote Employability programmes to employers through multiple channels

Qualifications

  • Degree/relevant professional qualification at level 5 or above and/or relevant industrial experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing, leading and inspiring large teams
  • Proven competence of designing and implementing employer engagement, recruitment and business support strategies
  • Knowledge of local skills priorities and the impact of work experience and employer encounters
  • Experience of managing work related programmes that lead to good job outcomes for learners
  • Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of building and maintaining internal and external relationships
