Catering Assistant (Porter) ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant (Porter) to support the day-to-day operation of our busy catering facilities at Southwark College. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout catering and food storage areas.
- Collecting, disposing of and managing waste and recycling appropriately.
- Receiving deliveries and checking goods against orders.
- Transporting food, equipment and supplies across college buildings.
- Washing, drying and storing kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Cleaning and maintaining catering equipment, fridges, freezers and kitchen facilities.
- Supporting food service and customer-facing activities, including operating tills when required.
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations.
- Working collaboratively with catering staff, lecturers and students to support catering operations.
