NCFE Tyne And Wear is seeking an Examiner for the Level 1/2 Technical Award in Music Technology. This position is a flexible worker contract and will be carried out remotely.
About the role
As an Examiner you will mark external assessments, submit results throughout the summer 2026 marking window, attend a mandatory standardisation meeting on Wednesday 1 July 2026 (9 am โ 5 pm) and provide consistent quality assurance.
Key responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the standard set by the Chief Examiner, applying the mark scheme consistently and accurately.
- Report suspected malpractice or safeguarding concerns to the Assessment Delivery team.
- Attend examiner standardisation and other meetings as required โ events will be run remotely and scheduled weekdays between 9:00 am โ 5:00 pm prior to the marking window.
- Maintain confidentiality of NCFE assessment materials, learner evidence and learner details, and report any breaches.
Qualifications and experience
- Professional qualification (Level 4 or above) relating to music technology.
- Current or recent teaching experience within a music technology subject or relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of effective quality assurance mechanisms.
- Ability to work consistently within tight deadlines.
