About the Role

We’re excited to be looking for an External Quality Assurer for Functional Skills and Preparation for Life and Work to join our External Quality Assurance team. The team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our internally assessed qualifications, including approval, monitoring and evaluation of our centres. The purpose of this role is to ensure quality assurance compliance, drive a high standard in assessment activities and continuous improvement in practice within our centres, ensuring a first‑class service that meets the needs of customers and learners, supports market growth and promotes advancement in learning. You’ll assess and manage risk and performance of centres and their staff through analysis and review of data and evidence from a variety of sources, including regulators and customers, as part of the quality process to ensure qualification and regulatory compliance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Carry out external quality assurance activities, completing reports within specific Service Level Agreements (SLA) to a high standard and keeping all relevant parties informed of outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to tailor quality assurance activities to specific centre requirements, ensuring clear communication and documentation within CRM, and delivering on time while considering budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance of all qualifications within your regional area in line with NCFE requirements, the General Conditions of Recognition and other relevant regulatory criteria.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, reflecting on feedback to drive improvement in your own work practices and processes as well as the wider EQA team.

Requirements

  • Relevant subject expertise, qualified to at least Level 3 in English and Maths.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • Qualification in external quality assurance or willingness to work towards it.
  • Qualification in assessment & internal quality assurance.
  • Evidence of at least 3 years working in an educational quality assurance role with knowledge of assessment and external quality assurance principles.
  • Knowledge of current developments in education and assessment.
