NCF Living is seeking an experienced Compliance & Ops Manager to lead and continuously improve health & safety, compliance, and operational standards across the business. With 24 retail stores nationwide, this role is critical in ensuring all locations operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently. The role also has responsibility for overseeing the day‑to‑day management of the store estate, ensuring sites are well‑maintained, fit for purpose, and fully prepared to support ongoing operations and new store openings.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety, Compliance & Risk
- Lead all aspects of health & safety across stores and Head Office
- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and internal policies
- Develop and implement H&S policies, procedures, and training programmes
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring actions are completed
- Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors
- Provide regular reporting on compliance, risks, and performance to senior leadership
- Oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of all retail locations
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Ensure stores are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard
- Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and value
- Oversee and support new store openings, relocations, and refurbishments
- Operational Standards & Support
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures across key operational areas
- Support store teams in adhering to company policies and processes
- Monitor compliance performance and identify areas for improvement

About You
- Proven experience in a senior compliance, health & safety, or operational role within a multi‑site retail environment
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
- Experience managing maintenance, contractors, and site standards
- Experience supporting new store openings or refurbishments
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive and detail‑focused approach
- Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
