These are some of the most significant and challenging opportunities we've ever faced, so we’re looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer (Research Engineer/Advanced Research Engineer) to help make it happen.

Manufacturing: Do you have experience in leading manufacturing processes? Do you have a proven background in manufacturing, production or quality? We are looking for an individual with; a strong understanding of the manufacturing engineering toolkit, who enjoys getting stuck into problem solving on the shop floor too, who will lead by example, implementing best practice in all aspects of manufacturing.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creating and evaluating quality control process and implementing continuous improvement & manufacturing governance.
  • Creation and management of process documentation such as PFMEA’s, SOIs.
  • Delivering and leading research projects from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Leading New Product Introduction processes and principles.
  • Analysing and reporting on manufacturing processes, including cycle time, reliability, repeatability, accuracy and downtime.
  • Utilisation of Lean Six Sigma Qualifications and/ or experience will be a bonus along with experience of root cause analysis activities.
  • Application of operational H&S knowledge.
  • Delivery of equipment specifications, procurement, the acceptance trials and site requirements.
  • Customer facing role representing NCC on and off site.

What we’re looking for

  • Process Engineering: You understand the parameters of a manufacturing process, can assess risk, scrutinise, and improve processes with the bigger picture in mind. You consistently deliver at cost, in time and meet quality expectations. You are customer focused and can follow a product or project through from creation to delivery whilst focusing on customer needs and meeting and managing requirements.
  • Innovation: You can apply innovative approaches to evaluate and develop technical solutions to solve engineering challenges, whilst working comfortably with ambiguity across multiple engineering sectors and composite manufacturing processes. You can implement new processes, procedures, and methods to manufacture new components to time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Data: We are looking for Data Driven Manufacturing Engineers with experience of test plans and process trends. As NCC makes in-roads into digital engineering, any understanding of how manufacturing data can be optimised and exploited would be beneficial.
  • Composite manufacture: While composites knowledge isn’t an essential requirement, if you understand composite manufacturing processes and the challenges we face in the industry, that’s a bonus.
