Shifts Rotation Pattern: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm and 9am-5pm

Salary: £28,321 to £37,465 per annum experience dependent

We are looking to hire a Business Support Administrator / Receptionist to support our front desk and administrative duties. We are a national R&D centre - government-backed, not-for-profit, and mission-driven. We work across 16 sectors and over 100 partners a year. Our people are here to deliver outcomes that matter, and you will be central to how we support, retain and grow them.

We are a busy and fun team; something is always going on so you will not have many dull moments! We are looking for someone who would enjoy working here with good customer service skills and ideally past receptionist or business administration experience.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing high quality administration to our front of house service to staff, visitors, and members in an efficient and customer focused way.
  • Administration of the Building Operations Service Desk facility on TopDesk.
  • Supporting the Health & Safety team with effective and efficient document management and administration.
  • Supporting action management and tracking for risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, NCRs etc.
  • Supporting the Skills and Workforce Development team providing administrative support to ensure an efficient L&D & Commercial training business.
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team support, for example with expenses process and travel arrangements.
  • Working closely with key NCC stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers to support meeting/events.
  • Estates Administration Activity: Act as the first point of contact for reactive maintenance or facilities requests, helping to manage email inbox, processing purchase orders and working with H&S advisors.
  • Contractor Administration: Daily administration of the Gatehouse contractor's system, maintain & update records for contractors attending site to include Inductions & credentials.
  • Providing a range of Office Management Administration support activities.

What we are looking for:

  • Practical experience of working on a busy front desk or reception, and strong customer service skills.
  • Relevant experience of handling high volumes of queries – face to face, telephone, e‐mail.
  • Relevant experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Proficient IT skills e.g. MS office suite (excel, PowerPoint, word, outlook) and experience of using different software and business systems.
  • Desirable would be exposure to general Business, Finance, procurement and Estate Systems and processes.
  • Desirable: exposure to Estates and Facilities Management workflows.
  • Desirable experience working in an engineering, manufacturing or research & development company.
