Summary: Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in the construction or defence sector? We are seeking an Advanced Procurement Category Lead to play a key role in our Sustainable Procurement team. In this strategic position, you will focus on leveraging business spend analysis to optimize procurement decisions across the organization. You will also support the development and implementation of category management strategies, driving procurement excellence and fostering cultural change. You will manage complex procurement categories, troubleshoot challenges, and build relationships with key suppliers to maintain high service delivery standards.
This role requires a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, including familiarity with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the upcoming Procurement Act 2023. If you have a passion for sustainable procurement and the skills to drive organizational success, we want to hear from you.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a procurement role, ideally within the construction or defence sector.
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement processes, including PCR2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
- CIPS Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
- Excellent commercial skills, with the ability to analyze and negotiate best value agreements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work strategically, manage complex categories, and drive continuous improvement in procurement practices.
- Prepared to meet all necessary measures and requirements essential for obtaining UK government Security Clearance.
