The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Global Finance Services Director, the role holder is responsible for the financial management accounts activities, leading a UK/Manila (The Philippines) based team covering multiple legal entities across many geographies (UK, US, Europe, APAC) to provide finance services to NCC Group. In addition to managing the day-to-day financial accounting activities, the role holder will work collaboratively with the Global Finance Services Director, other finance teams across multiple geographies to be responsible for implementing the new finance target operating model, which involves the transition of accounting roles, on a staged basis, from de-centralised locations to a UK and Manila based Centre of Excellence. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of financial accounting services across 2 centralised locations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial management accounting team who are responsible for Record to Report across multiple legal entities over different geographies (US, UK, Europe, APAC).
- Ensure revenue accounting is in line with applicable accounting standards, accurate and prepared on a timely basis.
- Lead the team to prepare and reconcile accurate cost reporting and completeness of cost accruals and prepayments.
- Lead the management accounts team in the review, investigation and resolution of variances.
- Support the management accounts team in the preparation of the month end reporting pack.
- Prepare all necessary journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Support the management accounts team with preparation of Danish, Spanish and Dutch VAT returns.
- Support the management accounts team with intercompany reconciliations (investigating as necessary) with the rest of the Group.
- Lead the management accounts team in preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations in line with our Balance Sheet Reconciliation policy.
- Ensure detailed and regular reviews of accrued and deferred income to ensure accurate and recoverable.
- Responsible for calculating provisions such as bad debt provision and accrued income provisions.
- Ensure all spreadsheets, processes and desktop instructions are fully documented, regularly reviewed, updated and in line with Global procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, proactively identifying and addressing any potential risks or issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of financial services delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including delivery teams, Finance Business Partners, billing, credit control, cash and bank, AP, auditors, regulators, external accounting providers and other relevant parties.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance individual and collective performance.
- Developing and implementing global financial policies, procedures, and controls that align with global best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and ensuring Kantata fit for purpose for the Fox Cyber (The Netherlands) business.
- Executing a comprehensive transition plan to migrate decentralised management accounts teams services to the new target operating model.
- Conducting thorough analysis of existing processes, systems, and resources to identify areas for improvement and optimization within the new operating model.
The role will be expected to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by leadership from time to time.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional certification such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA is highly desirable.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Post qualified experience essential.
- Strong knowledge of global financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS15 and ideally worked in a professional services firm.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a Management Accounts team in a global environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on financial data and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
- Proficient in financial systems and software, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
