Please note: This role a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
The objective of this role is to manage a portfolio of People Team projects across NCC Group globally.
The assigned projects will be medium to large in nature and span a range of people-focused activity, including reward, recognition, people operations, colleague experience, process improvement and systems-enabled change.
They will need to lead projects from requirements definition through to implementation and embedding, establish and manage project plans and resources and report progress, risks, issues and dependencies on a regular basis.
The role will work collaboratively with People Team colleagues, business stakeholders and enabling functions to deliver sustainable change and clear business outcomes.
Change management experience is essential.
The role will be required to assess stakeholder and colleague impacts, support readiness and adoption planning, coordinate communications and training activity, and help ensure changes are effectively embedded across the business.
Where necessary they will coordinate internal and external resources, including working with vendors and specialist partners, as well as ensuring projects remain within scope and budget and/or where necessary managing the change control process.
The role will involve project analysis and, when necessary, adapting scope, timelines and costs to ensure projects adhere to the defined requirements and continue to deliver value.
It is essential they establish and maintain relationships with the appropriate stakeholders and provide day-to-day contact on project status, decisions, risks and changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine and define project scope and objectives, working with a broad cross section of stakeholders from across NCC Group and the People Team.
- Manage the delivery of People-focused projects including reward, recognition, people operations, colleague experience, process improvement and systems-enabled change.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, along with summarised versions of plans for senior stakeholders.
- Lead project activity from requirements definition through implementation, adoption and closure.
- Identify stakeholder and colleague impacts, supporting change management, readiness, communications and adoption activity.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements.
- Track project costs in order to meet budget and report on any unexpected deviation from the project burn rate.
- Provide project updates on a regular basis to the PMO and key stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, issues, dependencies, mitigations and required decisions.
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers where required, assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Utilise project management best practice, tools, techniques and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to maintain delivery confidence and business alignment.
- Measure project performance, benefits and adoption to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide quality assurance measures on all project work.
- Adhere to NCC Group’s project governance methodology and People Team ways of working.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous experience working in a Project Manager role, ideally within a People, HR, transformation or change environment.
- Experience of delivering people-focused projects, such as reward, recognition, people operations, colleague experience, process improvement or HR systems change.
- Strong change management experience, including impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, readiness planning, communications, training and adoption activity.
- Excellent understanding of project management tools and techniques.
- Competence in Microsoft application packages including Office
- Understanding of other project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Trello or equivalent.
- Excellent understanding of the full project lifecycle and methodologies.
- Experience of working within a structured project management framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex activity into clear stakeholder updates.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience of managing budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ability to think outside the box to establish pragmatic solutions to issues arising.
- Experience of dealing with all stakeholder groups up to and including C-Suite.
Desirable
- Experience of supporting Workday, reward, recognition or wider People transformation projects is advantageous but not essential.
