Overview

Position Title: Global Strategic Consultant – FSI

Location: London – United Kingdom

Role Purpose: The role is responsible for developing and delivering the global strategic consulting proposition to ensure C&I services deliver innovative, high-quality consultancy and value-added services to clients specifically in the finance and insurance industry. The role will work across business development, pre-sales, delivery, public affairs, and public relations, and will operate at board and c-suite level, bringing a different dimension to clients and enhancing the global value NCC Group provides. Acting as a thought leader, your diplomatic and influencing skills will build effective relationships with pivotal individuals and the wider public to support our market strategy, ultimately building a strategic book of business.

The specific characteristics and skills of this role will vary – the divergence of capability and skillset is the ‘value add’ – ranging from deep sectoral knowledge, technical competence, thought leadership, advanced presentational and writing skills, client and partner relationship building, internal and external mentoring, professional credibility and the ability to command respect from colleagues, clients and contacts alike. You will be expected to apply this wide-ranging skill set to drive stronger commercial outcomes.

More specifically, a Global Strategic Consultant is someone who:

  • identifies long term, high value opportunities, by adopting a consulting-led approach, supporting proposals and developing accounts, providing advisory services and executive level oversight for complex delivery across all sectors.
  • is a recognised thought leader, with deep ‘security connections’ offering both internal and external audiences a broad perspective within the cyber security environment and who regularly contributes to policy development through NCC Group’s Public Affairs.
  • possesses very strong communication (listening, speaking and writing) and presentation skills engaging internally across the Group, and externally across multiple sectors, at all levels.
  • is someone who develops and maintains a long-term relationship with selected clients and contacts at a senior level, outside of the account management function, without the pressure to meet financial targets, personalising their experience of NCC Group.
  • is comfortable providing board-level directors, including NEDs, and executive leadership teams with the knowledge and skills to manage cyber risk and resilience effectively as part of their legally required governance and oversight responsibilities.
  • possesses the commercial acumen, the knowledge of organisational culture, together with the personal credibility and gravitas to shape strategic decision-making both in the company and externally.
  • is innovative in thought, conducts independent research and analysis, devises strategies and supports company-wide initiatives where the outcome will benefit both our brand and performance.
  • is both a team player and able to operate independently, providing support and advice internally as well as acting as a sounding board across NCC Group globally.
  • will act as an ambassador at external events, representing NCC Group as a member of industry bodies, closed groups, government, agency and law enforcement fora, to improve brand recognition and to identify potential opportunities for wider engagement, while also identifying recruits, partners and clients.
  • mentors less experienced clients and colleagues, providing sound advice to help develop ideas and to support individual aspirations to grow within the sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop, motivate and inspire a team.
  • demonstrates NCC Group’s values, is a recognised leader in their own right, and who brings an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude to their role in the business.
