Monday to Friday 8:30 – 16:30. Permanent contract offering a great salary, benefits and career development prospects. This site is part of a global recycling / packaging manufacturing group.
The Engineering Maintenance Planner will assist with the coordination of the site maintenance planning by providing a cost‑effective, reliability‑centred, predictive and preventive maintenance work‑order system. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the agreed maintenance plans for the future weeks.
- Creating and updating site‑wide scheduled maintenance activities.
- Appropriately scheduling, creating and using Bills of Materials (BOMs) and allocating parts and materials to planned maintenance tasks.
- Assisting in the production work‑order generation and management.
Assist with the planning and organising of the maintenance day‑to‑day activities, shut‑down coordination, establishing best engineering practices to optimise available resources and minimise shut durations. Familiarise with SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM as a Computerised Maintenance Management System tool to coordinate and control the engineering department's maintenance activities across the site.
Control and populate the engineering plan and future plan for all engineering day and shift personnel across all disciplines; chair weekly scheduling meetings for future weeks' activities. Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all maintenance/production requests, planned and routine maintenance activities and any involvement with other department requests involving the engineering department.
Assist with the use of SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM to provide structured maintenance plans for production operators to complete basic maintenance tasks and enable a format for historical documentation of work undertaken. Work closely with the Engineering Maintenance section, Engineering reliability section, Operational Managers, to provide a schedule of workload for Multi‑skilled shift technicians to maintain and improve asset reliability.
Regularly review SAP Plant Maintenance modules to ensure they cover all aspects of best predictive/preventative maintenance strategies. Ensure that all necessary inspection frequencies are recorded in SAP so that the inspections can be arranged in a timely manner (insurance/legal/etc.). Be fully aware of any changes in SAP in order to undertake all necessary work in maintaining the system.
Liaise with production, services and central functions to ensure routine maintenance is properly planned and job requests are executed efficiently and costed effectively. In conjunction with the Maintenance Planning Team Leader and site purchasing, ensure that equipment removed from the plant, that is being repaired in‑house, is coordinated through the maintenance plan, work orders allocated to the repair of each item and appropriate cost captured through SAP.
Support the Engineering Planning Team Leader with the creation and updating of the equipment functional location structure, including involvement with criticality assessments, updating equipment information and data, and allocating BOMs and spare parts required.
Engineering Maintenance Planner Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in engineering discipline.
- Engineering planning experience including engineering shuts.
- Ability to challenge and influence peers and other managers.
