A Utilities Project Manager is required for a 6-month contract to support the transition of utilities from an outsourced management company to a fully owned, technology-powered setup within the organisation. The project aims to deliver cost control, data mastery, operational efficiency, and scalability across electricity, gas, water, and renewables.
The current phase focuses on implementing a new Target Operating Model (TOM) and deploying the EnergyCAP application, enabling automation, integration, and robust reporting. This transition is expected to unlock significant operational savings, improve data quality, and establish a scalable platform for future growth.
Utilities Project Manager Duties:- Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the utilities TOM and EnergyCAP application implementation, ensuring seamless transition from the current outsourced provider with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior leadership, utilities, finance, tech, and third-party vendors to align project objectives, manage expectations, and ensure effective communication.
- Planning & Mobilisation: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations. Oversee project governance, risk management, and reporting.
- Process & Change Management: Map and embed new processes, drive adoption of new systems, and support change management activities to ensure smooth operational transition.
- Data Migration & Quality: Oversee data extraction, cleansing, migration, and validation from legacy systems to EnergyCAP, ensuring data integrity and audit-readiness.
- Testing & Go-Live: Coordinate system configuration, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and go-live activities. Ensure robust handover to business-as-usual (BAU) teams.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor project KPIs, report on progress, and drive continuous improvement.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, particularly around change management, system integration, and resource readiness.
- Digital Transformation: Lead the digital transformation journey by ensuring that new systems and processes are fully embedded and operationalised to deliver tangible business value.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex transformation projects, ideally within utilities, energy, or facilities management sectors.
- Strong track record of leading technology implementations (preferably SaaS platforms like EnergyCAP or similar).
- Highly desirable experience with Microsoft Dynamics - Finance & Operations (F&O) integrations.
- Demonstrable experience in process mapping, change management, and stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams.
- Solid understanding of utilities operations, billing, data management, and regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Experience with data migration, system integration, and user training.
- Evidence of successfully managing operational data and systems transitions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) is highly desirable.
