NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing business based in Stockport to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to join a progressive organisation where they can play a key role in financial reporting, business partnering, and supporting strategic decision‑making. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for producing accurate management information while providing valuable financial insight to operational and senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Producing monthly board packs and supporting commentary
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and month‑end journals
- Preparing accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting
- Performing variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Business partnering with departmental managers to support decision‑making
- Monitoring cash flow and working capital performance
- Assisting with year‑end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across finance operations
- Supporting ad‑hoc commercial analysis and project work
Experience Required
- Essential: ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified / finalist
- Previous experience within a Management Accountant role
- Strong month‑end and management reporting experience
- Excellent Excel skills and analytical ability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
- Desirable: Experience within a fast‑paced SME or growing business environment
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering activities
