NC Associates are working on an exclusive basis with a long established and forward thinking property business which are looking to recruit a Service Charge Accountant to work closely with the property surveyors and senior management team. As a Service Charge Accountant you will be essential in delivering robust financial information alongside the rest of the finance team. You will be working to tight deadlines and be managing a portfolio of commercial property clients.

Service Charge Accountant Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a portfolio of service charge accounts
  • Service charge reconciliations and production of balancing charges to tenants
  • Upload service charge budgets to the accounting software and raise quarterly invoices to occupiers
  • Quarterly meetings with property managers and surveyors to review service charge expenditure and forecast expenditure to year end
  • Monthly rent transfers to clients
  • Work closely with property managers to deliver the service charge
  • Electricity recharges to tenants
  • Produce VAT reports to group accountants

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience of working within a similar role as a Service Charge Accountant
  • Previous experience within service charges
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Must be highly efficient and organised
  • Must have a can-do attitude
  • Proficient user of Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Must be able to organise their own workload and prioritise effectively
  • Must have excellent communication skills and good telephone manner
