NC Associates are supporting a PE backed business which has seen extensive growth over the past 12 months in recruiting a Senior Group Accountant on a permanent basis. The Senior Group Accountant will be integral in supporting the Group Finance Director in driving the business forward especially as they go through various M&A.
As a Senior Group Accountant you will be responsible for managing the finance team of 6 and ensuring all activities are completed within specified time-frames. You will be involved in various projects including assisting with a new system implementation as well as improved reporting processes to adhere with Group Reporting requirements. You will also be tasked to oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, reporting and financial management delivering the needs of both the local operational management and central group finance function.
You will manage the activities of the local finance group, ensuring robust processes that are fit for purpose to support the rapid growth of the business.
Senior Group Accountant Duties:
- Progress the reporting and control systems to support the transition from an owner managed business to a PE backed regional financial management hub.
- Month end accounting to tight deadlines with performance reporting to both local management and group central finance.
- Day to day management of the activities of 6 team members covering all aspects of sales ledger, credit control, purchase ledger, payroll and management accounting.
- Taking a hands-on approach where required.
- Develop the skills of the team to best support the needs of the growing business, identifying upcoming challenges and putting in place timely solutions.
- Recruiting additional team members as required.
- Assisting with the regular and ad hoc reporting requirements of the central group finance function and private equity backers.
- Forecasting and budgeting including cashflow planning.
- Accounting system migration from Sage 50 to group selected software.
Senior Group Accountant Experience Required:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified with at least 3-5 years PQE.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a complex environment without compromising the quality of reporting.
- Highly IT literate with advanced Excel skills. Sage 50 and Power BI experience would be an advantage.
- A proven track record of managing and developing groups in a fast paced and changing environment.
- A flexible team player, with the capability to be assertive when required to promote robust financial control and happy to take a hands-on approach where needed.
- Strong communication, negotiation skills and well-developed interpersonal ability.
