NC Associates are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice, part of a wider international group, who are looking to recruit an experienced AAT qualified Practice Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in practice who enjoys managing their own client portfolio, working closely with clients, and supporting junior team members. Practice Accountant Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of year-end accounts through to finalisation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Production of management accounts and periodic reporting
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and basic tax computations
  • Preparation of personal tax returns (basic compliance)
  • Preparation of industry-specific returns where applicable
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance
  • Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, handling queries and explaining financial information clearly
  • Attending client meetings where required
  • Managing deadlines across accounts, VAT, and tax compliance work
  • Working closely with the wider team to deliver a high standard of service

Practice Accountant Experience

  • AAT qualified
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice (Essential)
  • Experience preparing accounts through to finalisation
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, management accounts, and basic tax compliance
  • Experience dealing directly with clients
  • Experience reviewing junior staff work
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero or similar
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend client sites when required
