NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Manchester to recruit an Accounts Semi Senior. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with practice experience who is looking to continue their professional development within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

Working closely with Managers and Partners, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, assisting with the preparation of accounts, tax returns and client advisory work. Responsibilities:
  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
  • Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio
  • Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax computations
  • Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
  • Supporting senior accountants and managers with client portfolios
  • Preparing working papers in line with accounting standards
  • Using cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects and client advisory work
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
Experience Required:
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • AAT Qualified or currently studying ACA / ACCA
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for a range of clients
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively within a team
Desirable:
  • Experience assisting with corporation tax computations
  • Experience working with a varied SME client portfolio
  • Ambition to progress into a Senior Accountant role
