NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Manchester to recruit an Accounts Semi Senior. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with practice experience who is looking to continue their professional development within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
Working closely with Managers and Partners, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, assisting with the preparation of accounts, tax returns and client advisory work. Responsibilities:- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
- Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio
- Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax computations
- Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
- Supporting senior accountants and managers with client portfolios
- Preparing working papers in line with accounting standards
- Using cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects and client advisory work
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- AAT Qualified or currently studying ACA / ACCA
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for a range of clients
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively within a team
- Experience assisting with corporation tax computations
- Experience working with a varied SME client portfolio
- Ambition to progress into a Senior Accountant role
