Accounts Senior Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of sectors
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts
- Preparing VAT returns and corporation tax computations
- Reviewing bookkeeping work completed by junior team members
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Providing day-to-day accounting advice and resolving client queries
- Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring and training
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients where required
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Assisting Managers and Partners with ad-hoc projects and client advisory work
Accounts Senior Experience Required
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- ACA / ACCA Qualified, Finalist or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio
- Good knowledge of VAT and corporation tax
- Experience managing client relationships
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
Desirable:
- Experience reviewing the work of junior staff
- Experience using IRIS, CCH or similar practice software
- Ambition to progress into a Client Manager position
