NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice based in Altrincham to recruit an Accounts Semi Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to further develop their accounting and client management skills within a supportive firm offering excellent progression opportunities.
Reporting into the Accounts Manager, you will work with a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, supporting the preparation of accounts, tax returns, and management information.
Accounts Semi Senior Responsibilities
- Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting tax compliance work
- Assisting with corporation tax computations
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software queries
- Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
- Assisting senior team members with client assignments and advisory work
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Supporting the onboarding of new clients and maintaining client records
- Keeping up to date with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Accounts Semi Senior Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice
- Experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- AAT qualified or studying ACA / ACCA
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
Desirable:
- Experience using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or other cloud accounting software
- Experience preparing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance work
- Exposure to management accounts preparation
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses
