We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in Wirral.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who has a minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice and is confident managing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
You will work with a range of clients, preparing accounts and supporting them with their day-to-day accounting and tax requirements.
The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently, managing their own workload and dealing directly with clients.
- Accountant Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies
- Preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing payroll and associated payroll documentation
- Completing bookkeeping for a range of clients
- Preparing management accounts where required
- Assisting with tax returns and tax computations Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate accounting records
- Dealing directly with clients and responding to queries
- Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies
- Providing general accounting support and advice to clients
- Accountant Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing limited company accounts
- Experience preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Good knowledge and experience of VAT returns
- Experience with payroll preparation
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Confident communicating with clients Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification/studies would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or Quick Books would be beneficial
