We are seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to support the effective implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our Food Safety, Quality and Legality Management Systems within our BRCGS and Red Tractor accredited site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring ongoing compliance with BRCGS Food Safety Standard, FSA / DEFRA legislation, and customer-specific standards. This is a hands-on role, working closely with production, hygiene and engineering teams to ensure food safety, product quality and animal welfare standards are consistently achieved. You will support day-to-day technical operations including HACCP, GMP, CCP monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence.
- Be involved in maintaining and improving systems within the Technical Department.
- Ensure relevant standards, HACCP based as appropriate, are communicated, understood and applied to meet Food Safety, Quality, Legality & customer specified requirements.
- Assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience within a similar Technical Management role in a FMCG environment.
- Working experience of HACCP and BRCGS.
- Food Science degree would be desirable but not essential.
