The Communications Manager coordinates and executes press and communications activity for CNBC International, ensuring the brand is positively positioned with both audiences and trade partners. The role manages media relations, develops proactive media opportunities, and delivers coverage of key news stories, business wins, and strategic initiatives. It also involves building strong relationships with journalists and external stakeholders, coordinating B2B communications, and partnering with the sales team to ensure consistent client messaging. In addition to external communications, the role is responsible for delivering internal communications across formats such as newsletters and all-staff events, and supporting leadership updates and Town Halls. The successful candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and confident working across international markets, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage teams across the global organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading on press office activities including managing incoming media enquiries, drafting media statements and press releases and sourcing necessary approvals by internal and external stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, media outlets, and external stakeholders.
- Developing media opportunities, pitches, interview coordination, Q&A and talking points.
- Coordinating and delivering internal communications across various formats, including newsletters and all-staff events.
- Coordinating the communications approach for B2B campaigns, announcements and events.
- Partnering with the sales team to develop client messaging and ensuring consistency across all client‑facing materials.
- Help create and execute strategic PR plans for CNBC’s news and long‑form content, special events, and editorial and business priorities.
- Research, build media lists and work closely with the CNBC International newsroom team to identify and disseminate breaking news and big interviews.
- Monitor, analyse and report on trending news stories and social media conversations, press coverage and competitor landscape.
- Work with the Marketing team and field producers to secure talent appearances, interviews and incremental content and brand exposure when CNBC reporters are on location at events.
- Seek opportunities to profile editorial and corporate leaders within the news/advertising media industry.
- Cultivate positive relationships with talent, producers and newsdesk to help external and internal communication flow.
- Manage and track the Communications budget ensuring rigorous attention to detail on all PR and comms related costs.
- Manage photo and video shoots for business day programs, talent and events.
- Contribute to publicising successful partnerships via trade PR, thought leadership, and award submissions.
Internal Communications
- Monitor competitive environment via regular review of competitive/industry news and provide briefings to senior leadership on developments.
- Work with the Director of Communications, International to deliver an active and informed internal communications programme which engages internal audiences.
- Play a fundamental role in the planning and delivery of leadership communications including the quarterly Town Hall from the CNBC President and other internal business events.

Essential Characteristics
- Significant prior experience in corporate communications or public relations or media relations required.
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships with journalists across the EMEA region, spanning business, finance and media beats.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail fundamental.
- Outstanding communicator who is articulate, agile, enthusiastic and a self‑starter essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, combining the ability to build trust and effective internal and external networks of relations is key.
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines crucial.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment, both independently and as part of a team is vital.
- Keen interest in finance and knowledge of publishing and news media important.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
