The Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day accounts and accounting processes are managed to a high standard. This will involve working closely with our outsourced teams to ensure accuracy of data, smooth operations, and timely escalations to the Senior Financial Accountant.
Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Management and responsibility of several key revenue and cost lines
- Ownership of AR & AP ledgers and escalation of risk items
- Manage outsourced resources to complete workload
- Influence key stakeholders at all levels to drive integrity and compliance of key responsibilities
- Month-end/Quarter-end financial reporting: Ownership of revenue & cost accrual process
- Identify and address key risks to facilitate a clean close
- Escalate any issues or risks to the Senior Financial Accountant and suggest timely solutions
- Support financial planning and analysis function to drive accurate operating profit & cash flow pacing
- Support the Senior Team members with month end and quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and commentary
- Overall responsibility for VAT process including reviewing and sign-off of outputs from internal VAT Team
- Review and process monthly/quarterly intercompany recharges
- Support Senior Team members with Programming accounting and reviewing contracts
- Completing statutory audit work and internal audit requirements to ensure deadlines are met and key issues escalated to the relevant stakeholders
- Support FinOps’ end-to-end P2P and R2R process improvement
- Ad hoc project work as required, including new territory & partnership launches
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
- Part Qualified or studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
- Previous experience of management accounts and reconciliations
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- A confident and pro-active communicator with the ability to effectively interact with non-finance personnel
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects in an often-pressurised environment
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing/growing environment
- Comfortable in identifying issues and proposing solutions
- The ability to operate effectively across diverse cultural and business environments
- A team worker who is good at building strong working relationships
Desirable Characteristics:
- Experience of working with outsourced teams
- Experience of working with General Ledger and Consolidation systems, SAP/BPC/ Business Warehouse experience
- Strong interest in the media industry and television business
