Position Overview: NBCUniversal is looking for a detail-oriented Associate Data Product Manager. This role will contribute to the evolution of our data platform into a truly international product. Partnership with international teams and openness to the latest ideas in data technology is essential to the success of the role. Expertise in technical design in collaboration to a deep understanding of the agile development philosophy is critical. As a member of the Decision Sciences team, you will champion a Data-as-a-Product mindset.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engage with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their needs, and ensure alignment on product goals and deliverables.
- Understanding and mapping of critical datasets within the group portfolio with the intention of enhancement, refinement and consistent delivery to our worldwide partners.
- Work closely with the delivery team; own, manage and convey requirements through user stories to inform the scope and design of data solution, planning and being available for technical inquiries and support.
- Input to the data product roadmap and manage the delivery of specific data product changes.
- Be involved in estimation sessions, to help prioritization of features and inform the product backlog.
- Work with the Data Governance team to make sure the integrity and utilization of data adheres to NBCU’s data governance standards and processes, ensuring fitness of data elements.
- Identify key risks and issues and ensure they are escalated in a timely manner.
- Maintain thorough documentation of product features, functionalities, and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or focus on data/statistical analysis or equivalent experience highly desired.
- Experience of working with complex data sets across a broad range of domains.
- Detail and results oriented, able to write detailed specs and analyze data to justify product decisions and apply key learnings.
- 1+ years of experience in a data related role (SQL, familiarity with data pipelines, data quality, audience management, ETL, event analytics).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate between teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to logically analyze complex requirements, data sets, processes and systems.
- Experience of working in an agile environment.
