Job Description
Work hand in hand with the VP, Acquired Products Distribution to maximize Global TV and digital revenue from Universal Pictures Content Group (UPCG) titles with a focus on execution, specifically on generating sales revenue opportunities, driving content engagement with internal teams and clients, being the primary source of information and creating sales solutions relating to these products, driving trials and new ideas, and managing stakeholders on behalf of TVD (Television Distribution).
Sales responsibilities and sales solutions:
- Incremental packages: Drive sales efforts with local NBCU sales executives to generate incremental revenue, focusing specifically on products not flowing through volume deals, multi-territory clients, and specialist genre packages. Join pitches with clients as product experts. Build and nurture strong, lasting customer relationships.
- Tailored sales strategies for individual titles: Work with the local and central NBCU sales executives to maximize TV and digital revenue for key products.
- Optimise film and documentary release strategies and windowing.
- Input into volume deal negotiations and sales administration for UPCG product.
- Provide regular slate touch points and content priority updates, ensure the sales teams are regularly updated and engaged on relevant UPCG product, have key information and sales hooks to back up pitches whenever needed.
- Work closely with the research and marketing teams to support efforts for pre/post-sales and enhance content pitches, client relationships and business activities.
- Lead on sales solution efforts for UPCG including genre decks, key title decks and launch initiatives, support on bespoke pitch materials required from the sales team.
- Lead on lifecycle initiatives and pushes with TVD, capitalise on relevant sales opportunities across the full portfolio to drive breadth of revenue.
Strategy/budget management & planning:
- Contribute to the strategy and budget.
- Lead on detailed financial analysis for pacing updates and annual strategy planning.
- Assist VP and the finance team on maintaining models and streamlining processes.
- Review acquisition strategy annually and keep TVD updated with latest content pipelines.
- Manage wrap up summaries from key film festivals to share with TVD execs.
- Lead digital only processes.
- Drive launch initiatives and maximise promotional efforts, clearly communicate commercial priorities.
- Act as central point of contact between UPCG and digital team (e.g. quarterly presentations).
Provide guidance on UPCG distribution plans , including advising on optimal release dates and input into theatrical release strategy.
Product/Operational lead:
- Point of contact for operational and product related questions.
- Liaison with product management teams to ensure they are updated with all relevant title information for product updates and pipeline trackers.
- Coordination of volume deals, dating and qualification criteria with sales admin and local NBCU sales executives for content flowing through these pre-agreed deals.
- Continuously streamline & improve processes.
Stakeholder Management/other responsibilities:
- Act as the TV and digital expert, representing TVD and updating UPCG/filmmakers/producers on strategies & successes.
- Present and educate UPCG on the TVD business and shifting landscape.
- Combined NBCU Documentary approach (across Sky, Focus, Peacock, MSNBC Films).
- Manage Acquired Products Intern and provide support for Team Coordinator, drive employee engagement and development.
Assist on ad hoc projects and perform other related duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Experience working in the media industry.
- Knowledge of media landscape in international territories.
- Understanding of the linear and digital landscape.
- Exposure to international markets.
- Experience and/or passion for specialist content genres (e.g. documentaries, stand up).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple projects and priorities, and working under tight timeframes.
- Strong financial, analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills, able to use insights to create actionable plans.
